Mexican 5 Spice I’m so excited to finally roll out part one of one of our favourite meals! This Mexican 5 Spice is the seasoning we use on our burrito bowls, which will be coming up in a post very soon. The seasoning is not only used on our burrito bowls, but we have a jar of it in our spice cupboard all the time, to throw on crispy baked black beans, seasoning for nachos, tacos, or in some vegan quesadillas!
This spice mix is a remake of the seasoning you would buy in those Old El Paso taco and burrito dinner kits, but the new and improved version (well, I think so anyways haha!). Those pre-made seasoning packages include anti-caking agents, oils, and preservatives, and when it takes less than 5 minutes to make your own, why wouldn’t you!
Prep and cook time: 5 minutes
Makes about ¾ cup
6 tbsp paprika powder
2 tbsp garlic powder
2 tsp ground cumin
½-1 tsp cayenne pepper (depending on spice preferences!)
1 tsp fine grain sea salt
1. Combine all spices and mix! Voila!
